Wingham Woman Charged In Crash

A Wingham woman has a January court date after an incident early today.

Just after 3:30 this morning, Wingham police were alerted to a vehicle that had gone off the road near the Legion on Victoria St.

Police attended and saw a vehicle caught up on some guide wires and the driver was attempting to get the vehicle moving again.

The 47-year-old Wingham woman was arrested and taken to Walkerton where she provided breath samples that showed readings over the legal limit.

She is charged with care and control of a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, having over 80 mgs of alcohol in her blood and breach of probation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
