Ausable Bayfield Conservation Budget Ready

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has finalized its budget for the coming year.

General Manager Brian Horner explains member municipalities had asked that any increase in the levy be kept to a maximum of two per cent,  and the final figure is an increase of 1.98 per cent.

The general levy is $855,000 and the project levy is just under $367,000.

Horner says the conservation authority had to reduce the original budget by about $20,000 or about two per cent.

No projects were cut because the authority was able to find other sources of funding in the time between when the original budget was presented and the final one was approved.
