Brockton Deputy Mayor Dan Gieruszak hopes they can secure extra financial support for new soccer fields from the Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities fund.
He reported ot council last night that the grant program supports the vision of getting and keeping Ontarians Active.
He says an Ad Hoc committee could be put together to gather the necessary information and submit the application.
Plans for the soccer complex include four fields including one with lights.
There will also be a building containing change rooms, storage and a food booth.
Initial estimates suggest the project will cost $1.3 million.
Brockton Council voted in May to proceed with the tendering process.
