Bluewater Defer Road Agreement For Wind Energy Project

Bluewater council has deferred the signing of a road user agreement for the Grand Bend Wind Energy project.

Mayor Tyler Hessel explains staff had asked that council give the Mayor and CAO signing power for the agreement but says there was still some questions about where the transmission lines were going to be buried.

Hessel says they have time to get that clarification before the first council meeting in January.

"We need to protect ourselves just in case we need to widen roads or put in new culverts or anything like that," Hessel tells CKNX News, "We want to make sure there is no impact to anyone who wants to do something like that in the future."

Hessel points out wind energy remains a very sensitive issue in Bluewater so it's important that council be very transparent in everything it does regarding the implementation of projects.
