An adult female is dead after an apartment fire in Owen Sound early Sunday morning.
Owen Sound Police say they and fire officials attended the scene at a West Side apartment building just before 3am Sunday morning, to find a blaze in one of the building's units.
Fire officials were able to contain the fire to the single unit, but heavy smoke filled the entire eighth floor of the building.
Police say as a result of the fire, an adult female was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ontario Fire Marshal and the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Owen Sound Police Service are now investigating.
