Ausable Bayfield Conservation Closes ATV Trails

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has made a few improvements to some of its conservation lands.

Supervisor Kate Monk explains they've created a parking lot at the Linfield Wildlife Area between Bayfield and Zurich on Pavilion Rd. so that people wishing to hike on the property won't have to park on the road.

They've also completely closed off trails in the Parkhill and Sandler Tract areas that had been used by the Ausable River Riders Club.

Monk explains some of the trails had been damaged so badly they could no longer be used, not by members of the club, but by other ATV riders. So those trails have now been closed and some extra entrances that had been created have also been blocked off.
