Bluewater Recycling Expands Facility

The Bluewater Recycling Association is expanding its facility in Huron Park.

President Francis Veilleux explains the list of recyclable materials continues to grow and some of the newer materials are lighter but bulkier than the older materials. He points to the fact that plastic now replaces a lot of glass and metal packaging and that has increased the overall volume they deal with by a significant amount.

Veilleux says they're now in the process of adding a new building to deal with the increased volume.  Veilleux adds while they're seeing increases on some material, one material that's dropped off considerably in the past few years is newspapers and he suggests five years from now they won't be getting much newsprint at all.
