Hometown Hockey In Grey County

This is a big weekend for Owen Sound as it it hosts the Roger's Hometown Hockey Tour.

Hockey-themed events and live entertainment are featured Saturday and Sunday, highlighted by an outdoor viewing party Sunday evening at 7pm for a game between the Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Owen Sound's Special Events Coordinator Doug Cleverly says it's great for the city.

"It's going to put our face, our name and our beautiful location and history on the map right across Canada," he says.

Many big name hockey celebrities will be on hand for the events including Owen Sound Platers alumni Wayne Primeau, former Leafs goaltender Curtis Joseph and current Leafs defensemen Jake Gardiner and Morgan Reilly.  Events get underway at the Lumley Bayshore in Owen Sound Saturday at noon.  There's also an Owen Sound Attack game against Guelph Saturday night.
