Meaford Library's Seed Program Receives Donation

Staff at Meaford Public Library are "overwhelmed and gratified" by the generosity of two local businesses.

Public Services Coordinator Lori Ledingham says library staff and members of the Seed Library program worried this fall, because the Seed Library's stocks were bare.  Because the fruit, vegetable and flower seeds are free, the library's supply disappeared quickly and by early fall, the library's seed supply was almost gone.

"The gracious donation of seeds will help us build on past achievements. And it promises a busy and exciting 2015 for local gardening efforts," says co-organizer Jaden Calvert.

Hundreds of packets of vegetable, flower and herb seeds have been donated to the Seed Library for 2015.
