Good Year For Friends Of The South Huron Trail

2014 was a very good year for the Friends of the South Huron Trail.

Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority Supervisor Kate Monk explains last year was the tenth anniversary of the trail and Linda Wilhelm of Exeter was named the new president of the Friends of the Trail.

Monk says the group of community volunteers save the conservation authority a significant amount of money by looking after maintenance and cleaning up the trail.

Monk adds they don't keep formal records of how many people visit the trail but she estimates they have about 50,000 visits each year.
