Grey County CAO Resigns

The CAO of Grey County has resigned after barely two months on the job.

Derik Brandt handed in his resignation effective today after meeting with county officials.

Warden Kevin Eccles says county council and Brandt mutually believe the position was not the right fit for him or the county. Eccles says it was Brandt's decision.

"It's frustrating maybe you could say, disappointing that we didn't get it right, but it's just part of the process that you've gotta work your way through," says Eccles.

Brandt started the job November 10 as the replacement for former CAO Lance Thurston who moved on to head Grey Bruce Health Services.

Warden Eccles says it will take two to four months to find Brandt's successor. Derik Brandt could not be reached for comment.
