Meaford's building department issued 20 permits for new homes last year. They had a total value of $6.9 million.
That's up from the 16 permits issued for new homes in 2013, which had a total value of $5.87 million.
Overall, Meaford's building rate was off slightly last year. The total value of permits issued was almost $12.2 million. That's down from a total of $13.8 million in 2013.
