Wingham Residents View Hospital's Future

Residents of Wingham and surrounding areas got a look into the future of the Wingham and District hospital last night.

The hospital hosted a community meeting at the former public school to allow the public to see renovation plans for the hospital, learn about patient programs, health care finances, and voice any concerns they have.

There was also information on the conversion of the old Wingham Public School into a health and wellness campus. The new facility would host family health teams, a pharmacy, and offer space for other groups such as physiotherapy to lease.

Renovations to the hospital and the school are expected to begin in the next few months. The goal is to have the new health care campus in the former Wingham Public School open later this year.
