Grey Highlands Freezes Water Rates

Grey Highlands Council is considering no increase across all water and wastewater systems in 2015.

During a Committee of the Whole meeting, the proposed water/wastewater budget was presented to council for consideration. Council determined that despite freezing the rates across all systems for 2015, key initiatives will be attainable.

Among the initiatives moving forward are a review of service options and an action plan for users in the Beaver Valley area -- replacement of the Markdale Tower, and optimization of the Markdale Lagoon.

The municipality will be holding a public Open House on February 7 at the KinPlex in Flesherton from 2pm to 4pm.

A public meeting with the intent to pass the 2015 budget will take place at the Grey Highlands Council Chambers on February 9 at 5pm.
