Wellington North New Construction Slows

Building activity in Wellington North continues a three-year slide.

The number of permits issued in 2014 totaled 218, compared to 243 in 2013, and 258 in 2012.

The value of permits in Wellington North also dropped in 2014, totaling about $18-million. That is down just slightly from 2013, but down by about $8-million from 2012.

“We’ve had a little decline, but I’m not too alarmed by the trend," says Mayor Andy Lennox. "I think there is naturally some variation from year to year in building permits and I look forward to continued growth and development in the future.”
