Huron OPP Recover Stolen Car In Arrest

Huron OPP have laid charges against two Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh residents in connection to a stolen car taken from a Goderich home last month.

On Wednesday, officers located what they believed to be the missing Pontiac Pursuit, without licence plates, parked on the side of Belfast Rd.

Police say they observed a female driver exit the vehicle and start walking westbound.

Once police confirmed that it was the car stolen on December 7, they arrested the female, who had walked farther down the road. During the arrest police say officers found a quantity of methamphetamine.

After searching the vehicle, police say they also found a license plate stolen from another North Huron residence.

Through their investigation, police say a 33-year-old male had also been in possession of the stolen vehicle.

He and a 31-year-old female have been charged with several counts of possession of stolen property.
