Bayfield Bridge Work to Begin This Summer

Motorists who regularly travel between Bayfield and Goderich were a pretty happy group when the re-paving of highway 21 was finally completed. But it turns out the celebration was a little premature.

The MTO has just completed the preliminary phase of an environmental assessment for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Bayfield River.

Bluewater Deputy Mayor Jim Ferguson says the work will be done this year, and one lane will be kept open to allow traffic through.

Ferguson also points out the alternative is driving out to Varna to get around the bridge.
