Meaford Teen Makes Wrong Call For Ride Home

A Meaford teen who asked police for a ride home early Sunday morning found himself getting a ride to jail instead.

It was just after 4:30 am Sunday, when the 18-year-old contacted Grey County OPP requesting an officer give him a ride to Meaford from a residence on Concession 2 in the Municipality of Meaford.

Police did arrive, but instead of a ride into Meaford, the intoxicated male was given a ride to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment where he was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The accused, who was prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol, was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
