Owen Sound Police Make Arrest After Armed Robbery

Owen Sound Police have laid charges after an armed robbery in the city's downtown core.

Officials say an officer was flagged down at the intersection of 8th Street East and 2nd Avenue East on Sunday.

Police say the suspect displayed what appeared to be a firearm in an alley, then took a substantial amount of cash from one of the victims and fled.

Police arrested and charged a suspect late Monday afternoon. The cash and firearm involved in the case have not been recovered. Investigators are looking into the possible involvement of a second suspect.

18-year-old Luther Shipley has been charged with the following counts:

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
