Pedestrian Air Lifted To Hospital From Listowel

A 69-year-old Howick woman had to be airlifted to London Hospital after being hit by a pickup at a crosswalk in Listowel Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Inkerman St in downtown Listowel at the Wallace Ave Intersection.

Police say that the truck was heading South on Wallace Ave when it made a left turn onto Inkerman St and struck the pedestrian as she proceeded through the crosswalk.

She was first taken to local hospital before being airlifted to hospital in London with major injuries.

The driver, a 57-year-old from North Perth was not injured.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
