Prominent Liberal Politicians Visit Perth County

Two long-serving federal Liberal politicians are visiting the Perth-Wellington riding this week.

Local Liberal candidate Stephen McCotter is hosting a Speaker Series. It's in conjunction with the Liberal winter caucus meetings in London.

Liberal Environment critic John McKay will be at a luncheon Wednesday at the Westover Inn in St. Marys. He'll be discussing the impact of environmental policy on communities and businesses. That forum is from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

On Friday, Heritage critic Stephane Dion will be at a lunch meeting in Stratford. It's being held at the Pazzo Taverna restaurant from 11:00 to 2:30. Dion's presentation is on advancing Canadian heritage, arts and culture.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
