Southwest and Waterloo Wellington area CCAC Nurses Hold Strike Votes

The latest round of mediation has failed for 10 Ontario Community Care Access Centres.

The Ontario Nurses' Association and the CCAC's where the ONA holds bargaining rights, have reached a stalemate after three days of mediation with a provincially appointed conciliator.

Strike votes at all 10 Bargaining Units will be held in the upcoming weeks. Affected communities include those in the catchment area of the South West and Waterloo-Wellington LHIN.

The main focus of the dispute is wages. ONA is seeking the same salary increases that it has negotiated in its other major sectors, including hospitals, where many CCAC members work.
