OPP Arrest 2nd Suspect In Howick Firearms Investigation

The OPP have arrested a second person in connection with last week's arrest of a Howick Township man as part of an illegal firearms investigation.

A 49-year-old Harriston man was arrested yesterday and charged with illegal transfer of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

On January 14, OPP officers executed a search warrant at a home on Fordwich Line and seized two improperly stored rifles, along with a quantity of suspected marijuana.

The 43-year-old resident was charged with several firearms related offences as well as possession of marijuana and uttering threats.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
