Winter Scout Camp In Owen Sound

The 52nd annual winter Scout camp is on this weekend in Owen Sound.

About 300 scouts and their leaders are braving the winter weather in tents at Harrison Park.

But as organizer Lorrie Tatum says, compared to other years, the weather this weekend looks great.

"The temperatures are almost perfect. We don't want it really really mild because then the snow gets too wet and if it's too cold then nobody is really happy," says Tatum.

Tatum says there are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy, things like paintball and firelighting and log sawing contests.

The boys and girls at the Owen Sound winter Scout camp are from all over Ontario and three troops are from Ohio.
