Ausable Bayfield Spring Water Awareness Program

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is now accepting invitations from elementary schools in the watershed, who are interested in the Spring Water Awareness Program.

The ABCA delivers the program to about twelve schools every February and March to educate young people about dangers of playing or walking near water courses in the spring.

Any schools interested in the Spring Water Awareness Program should contact Denise Iszczuk at the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.

Iszczuk explains one of the demonstrations they do is ask a student to put a bare forearm in a bucket of cold water to see how long they can keep it in the bucket.

She says it's a very effective demonstration of the effects of cold water.
