Grey Bruce Air Quality Monitors Sought

The Grey Bruce Health Unit would like enhanced air quality monitoring in the two counties.

Currently air is monitored in only one spot in the Tiverton area.

The Health Unit is asking the Environment Ministry to collaborate on a project to increase the number of monitoring sites.

Public Health manager Bob Hart says having the enhanced data would allow the health unit and the province to possibly remediate problems or inform people if problems are found.

"Of course air quality is so important for peoples' health. Even though we have no belief right now there's really an issue we think it's just a good idea to be able to have that data," said Hart.
