High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Missouri woman had to be airlifted to a London Hospital with life threatening injures after a collision in the Township of Southgate.
Grey County OPP says a Peterbilt tractor trailer collided with a Hyundai Elantra at the intersection of Grey road 9 and Grey Road 109.  The crash occurred about 3:22pm yesterday afternoon.
The 47-year old woman in the vehicle had to be extricated by firefighters and remains in in critical condition.
The 57-year old Mitchell man driving the transport was not hurt.
