Coast Guard Icebreaking Near Owen Sound

Canadian coast guard ice breaking operations are underway in various areas of the Great Lakes including the Owen Sound region.

The Coast Guard has issued a warning of potentially unsafe ice conditions in the vicinity of operations, and near shipping routes in the Great Lakes.

A Coast Guard icebreaker is scheduled to assist a commercial vessel into port at Owen Sound this morning.

Dates and routes can change without notice do to weather, ice conditions or schedules.

Broken and fragmented icy tracks left behind may not freeze over immediately, and new snow can obscure the unsafe conditions.
