Kincardine Council To Select Fire Dispatcher

Kincardine council will consider contracting out fire department communications dispatch to the Tilsonburg Fire Communications centre.

The Municipality of Kincardine Fire Department uses a third party provider for the answering of emergency phone lines, the triaging of calls and paging of firefighters to emergencies.

The provider also handles after hours non-emergency phone support.

A scoring system with 14 key points was used to evaluate bids from Kincardine Communications, Owen Sound police, Spectrum communications, and Tilsonburg Fire and Rescue Service.

The five year contract would start at about $23,000. in the first year, and go up to just over $25,000 by year five.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
