Trustees Consider Future Of Kenilworth Public School

The Upper Grand District School Board has referred the Wellington North elementary Accommodation Review decision to its the Business Operations Committee.

The committee will sit February 10 to consider recommendations from staff, and from the Accommodation Review Committee.

Staff suggest Kenilworth Public School should close, and the students should attend either Arthur Public School or Victoria Cross Public School next September.

The ARC Report Option 1 calls for Kenilworth to remain open as a JK to Grade 6 facility.

It calls for renovations to allow for Full Day Kindergarten to be done, and have the building maintained to the standard of all other Upper Grand schools.

Trustees will debate the issue February 10, and make recommendation for the board to consider February 24.
