Erin Public School Principal One of Canada's Most Outstanding

The principal of Erin Public School is on the list of Canada's 40 Outstanding Principals for 2015.

The Learning Partnership has honoured principals from across the nation who demonstrate innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and creativity.

They call him a data driven administrator who focuses on the needs of each student.

Peter Leblanc builds bonds with parents, and collaborative partnerships with the community.

Leblanc says he's humbled and thrilled with the recognition. He says his job is incredibly rewarding, and he's inspired everyday by the accomplishments of students.

“His passion for building global citizenship skills results in highly-engaged students who learn real-life lessons, gain social justice, and compassion for others," states the Learning Partnership. "Through Peter’s leadership, students are happily engaged and thriving in every way.”

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
