Monkton Snowmobile Collision Leads To Charges

A Perth County man has been charged under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act, following a collision near Monkton that involved a snowmobile and a minivan.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the crash around 11:30am yesterday morning on Perth Line 55 in West Perth.

A number of snowmobiles were travelling north on a snowmobile trail, approaching Perth Line 55. The first of the snowmobiles crossed Line 55 safely, but the second operator failed to see an approaching minivan on Line 55. The snowmobile collided with the passenger side rear corner of the minivan.

No one required hospital treatment. A 65-year-old man from Perth East has been charged with failing to yield to adjoining property.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
