The Future Of Goderich Agricultural Park Still Undecided

The re-development of the Agricultural Park in Goderich has suffered another setback.

The Board of Management of Recreational Services told Goderich Council it could not support Option 4, the option council had already approved in principle.

Option 4 includes keeping the horse track, two ball diamonds, moving the soccer pitch and adding a skateboard park. The board wants to see the horse track removed and a third ball diamond constructed.

Mayor Kevin Morrison was asked if this meant the process was back at square one.

"Basically that's it," he says. "I asked that of the presenter last night... and after some hesitation he said yes we are."

Morrison expressed frustration with the lack of progress.

"I made the comment last night, in fact, with all the money that's been spent over the years, and we're talking a lot of years with studies and everything else, we could have had a skateboard park here years ago."

The future of Goderich's Ag Park is now in the hands of the budget committee.
