The Future Is Bright For Kenilworth Public School

The Upper Grand District School Board Business Operations Committee supports the Wellington North Accommodation Review Committee's Proposal to keep Kenilworth Public School Open.

The committee also voted to complete a back log of maintenance work at the school.

The Township of Wellington North says the expected future ratification of that recommendation by the board is a huge victory for the community.

CAO Michael Givens says it means continued investment in community infrastructure and local jobs.

It will enhance the atmosphere in the hamlet of Kenilworth. And he says it's recognition by the school board of the unique role of small rural schools in the community.

He says clearly trustees heard the message from the review committee, parents, teachers, community member sand students who worked to keep the school open.
