Saugeen Shores Police Warn Of Hydro One Phone Scam

Saugeen Shores police are warning of a scam after a resident received a call from a man claiming to be from Hydro One.

The caller said the resident owed money on their hydro bill, which could only be paid with a pre-paid Visa. Once the Visa was purchased, the resident was supposed to call the caller back and give them the ten digit Visa code.

Fortunately the individual was able to cancel the pre paid visa, and get his money back before the culprits used the card.

Police are reminding residents that a legitimate company does not do business that way.
