Avon Maitland Korean Exchange Applications Accepted

The Avon Maitland District School Board is offering an opportunity for sixteen grade seven students to experience South Korea.

International Education Administrator Steve Howe says they're now accepting applications for eight boys and eight girls to stay for three weeks in a city near Seoul, South Korea in the summer and then the students they stay with will come back here in late December.

Howe points out there is a cost for the trip and students have to apply, but he emphasizes no student will be denied because of the family's ability to pay. He says the subsidies, if required, will be arranged confidentially through a third party.

Anyone interested in applying for the trip to South Korea should contact Steve Howe at the Avon Maitland Board offices in Seaforth.

Howe adds they're planning similar cultural exchanges with students ranging from grades seven to twelve who are going to St. Maartens in March, and forty grade eleven students who are going to Italy this summer.
