Huron County Close to Finalizing Budget

A finalized budget for Huron County for 2015 could be closer this week.    The County's Committee of the Whole will take another look at the budget on Wednesday.

Councillors could have approved the budget last week, but C-A-O Brenda Orchard says they wanted more information on what the final figure for reserves would be if the budget was approved as presented.

A request for 20-thousand dollars from the Perth-Huron United Way is part of the budget deliberation.    Orchard says if the request is approved it would come out of a fund of 100-thousand dollars that the county set aside or unforseen circumstances.

A request from the Emergency Services Training Centre in Blyth for 284-thousand dollars over three years has been referred to the new Economic Development Board. If the Board decides to support the request, Orchard says it would still come back to County council for approval.
