Update: Late Night Crash Closes Part Of Hwy 8

Hwy. 8 was closed into Sunday morning after a two-vehicle collision in Holmesville caused major injuries.

The OPP says around 10pm last night, officers were dispatched to the collision on the highway at Parr Line.

An investigation revealed a minivan driving west on Hwy. 8 was hit by an eastbound truck while attempting to turn left onto Parr Line. A number of occupants in both vehicles suffered major injuries and were taken to local hospital and London hospitals for treatment.

The OPP Traffic Collision Investigation Unit was called in to investigate. Police closed the highway near the scene all the way to Benmiller Line towards Goderich. It was reopened around 8:25am.

At this time, no information has been released in regards to the number of victims or their condition.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
