Libro Donates To Local Food Banks

Libro Credit Union made its annual donation to the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre in Centralia Thursday.

Distribution Centre Executive Director Mary Ellen Zealman says Libro, formerly United Communities Credit Union, has been making an annual donation since 2007.

This year it donated 3,600 lbs of meat and 900 lbs of eggs to be distributed to the ten food banks in Huron and a few in Perth County.

Libro's Exeter Branch Manager Rob MacVean adds since the tradition was started, they've donated about $355,000 worth of food to the food banks and he points out most of that is donated by local growers and producers.

Premium Transport in Centralia provides the space for the distribution centre and as well the equipment they use for loading and unloading trucks.
