Employee Assaulted During Drayton Bank Robbery

The OPP is investigating after a bank employee was assaulted during a robbery.

It happened at the Royal Bank on Main St. E in Drayton, Mapleton Township just before 5pm Monday.

Police say a lone male entered the bank with a weapon. After assaulting an employee, he made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police describe the man as 5'8" with a thin build, black and dark green spring coat, black toque and scarf with navy blue sports pants.

They say the suspect was last seen running eastbound on Main St. E.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
