OPP Reminder To Clear Snow And Ice From Vehicles

The OPP is reminding motorists of the importance of clearing all the snow and ice from your vehicle in the morning.

Under the Highway Traffic Act, it’s an offence not to have a clear view out of the windshield and to the sides of the vehicle. The fine for this violation is $110.

Take the time to defrost the windows, scrape the ice, and remove the snow from your vehicle before heading out.

And after a long winter of use, it's also a good time to make sure your windshield wiper fluid is topped up and the wipers are in good working order. A sudden salt-sand spray from another vehicle can reduce your visibility.
