Wellington North Donates to Hospital Campaign

It was a struggle, but Wellington North council finally agreed that the Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest will get $250,000 towards a building campaign.

The amount was one-quarter of the $1-million requested by the hospital Foundation, which is trying to raise a total of $5-million.

The $250,000 will be raised by a special annual charge on residential tax bills of about $50, split into four annual payments of about $12.50.

Mayor Andy Lennox was pleased that an agreement could be reached. "The hospital is very important to our community and we managed to find a compromise position."
