Lake Huron Ice Coverage Drops Eight Per Cent On Tuesday

Milder temperatures have brought ice coverage on Lake Huron down eight per cent since Monday.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the US, ice coverage on Lake Huron (including Georgian Bay) fell from 90 percent on Monday, to 82 per cent on Tuesday.

The NOAA says ice coverage on Lake Huron hit a seasonal peak on Friday, with ice smothering 96.28 per cent of the Great Lake.

Coverage on Lake Huron is down 10 per cent from this time last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
