UPDATE: Chemical Leak Closes Goderich 'YMCA'

The Goderich-Huron YMCA remains closed as a result of a chemical leak earlier today within the Goderich-Maitland Recreation Centre on Suncoast Drive East.

At 12:30 p.m., after an inspection was completed, the Goderich Fire Department and Huron County Health Unit approved the re-opening of the Maitland Recreation Centre and Sifto Arena.

The Young Canada week PeeWee hockey tournament will begin as scheduled tomorrow.

The YMCA portion of the building remains closed for professional clean up.

YMCA re-opening is pending.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
