Thaw Makes Waterways Dangerous In Grey County

The Grey County OPP is urging parents to keep children away from rivers, lakes and streams.

The warmer temperatures mean bodies of water that were frozen may now be unsafe

You should talk to your children about the dangers of playing around water, melting snow and ice.

As the snow and ice melt, there is also the potential for flooding.

Many people fail to recognize that even very shallow water and currents can be a hazard.

Keep vehicles, pets and children away from any areas of open water.
