Howick Twp Driver Charged

A Howick Township woman won't be driving for the next three months after being pulled over on Hwy. 23 north of Gowanstown this morning.

Her driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for a week after she was initially pulled over around 7am for speeding.

While speaking to the driver, police allege the Perth County OPP officer smelled alcohol on her breath.

She failed a roadside breath test and also failed subsequent breath tests at the OPP detachment in Listowel.

In addition to losing her licence and having her car impounded, the 43-year-old has been charged with driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
