OPP Conduct Slow Speed Chase In Meaford

Grey County OPP launched a slow speed chase after noticing a motorist weaving and travelling at speeds well below the limit.

An officer activated his lights on Hwy. 26 in Meaford last evening in an attempt to get the motorist to pull over.

However, the vehicle continued on slowly for about 5 km before stopping on Grey Rd. 112.

The 22-year-old driver from Markham was not impaired, and said he was not aware he was supposed to pull over until he heard the siren.

He was charged with failing to stop for emergency vehicle.

That comes with a $490 fine and three demerit points.
