Owen Sound City Hall Needs Costly Repairs

Owen Sound's city hall is in bad shape.

The 50-year-old structure needs costly repairs to things like its heating and cooling system, windows and insulation.

The city's Director of Operations says there are several options - ranging from temporary fixes to demolition and building a new city hall.

It's estimated a new building would cost 12 million dollars.

Owen Sound councillors will review previous studies on the building before making any decisions.

Councillor Jim McManaman says there are tough decsions ahead. "The systems in it are old, the windows, all those components need to be upgraded. I don't know where it's gonna go from here, it's a difficult discussion your talking a great deal of money."
