71 Huron County Families Want French Immersion

A Huron County group is trying to draw attention to the lack of French Immersion in county schools.

The group Huron County Parents for French Immersion is hosting a public meeting in Goderich tonight.

The only French Immersion programs offered by the Avon Maitland Board are in Stratford.

Spokesperson Dana Morgenroth says they have 71 signed forms from parents who would like to enroll a child in a French Immersion program in Huron County.

Morgenroth admits finding a central location might be tough, but that decision would be up to the school board.

Tonight's meeting starts at 6:30 at the Goderich Public School.
