Former Church Leader In Chatsworth To Stand Trial

Almost a year after being arrested, a former Chatsworth church leader will stand trial on a number of sex charges.

Fred King was the leader of the Church of Jesus Christ Restored.  King will stand trial on 24 total charges spanning over 30 years.  They include sexual exploitation, sexual interference, sexual assault, and uttering death threats.

The OPP arrested King last April in Hamilton following a 16 month investigation.  King will appear in court again May 4.

King's brother, Judson, will also stand trial and his next court appearance is April 7.

There is a publication ban in place.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
